Snow Leopard, Apple’s latest iteration of it’s Mac OS X is set to be released sometime next month. There have been rumors that it could appear earlier, but we’re almost there anyway, so it won’t really matter.
Erica Ogg over at CNET posted an article that tackles the most commonly asked questions about Snow Leopard and the differences between it and Leopard. It covers everything from what kinds of changes are in the new version to the prices we’ll pay for it.
Over at TUAW, they’ve written an article warning us about the potential problems we may have if we run any PowerPC apps currently. We’ll need to either update the app (hopefully there’s an Intel version out there), install Rosetta (It’s optional in Snow Leopard) or simply trash the app.
Personally, I’m looking forward to Snow Leopard more and more. Speed boosts are promised by Apple due to it’s 64-bit goodness and memory handling. It’s much lighter (You’ll gain 6 GB of drive space when you upgrade from Leopard), and more reliable. The price tag is attractive as well. Who wouldn’t upgrade?
